10 Ways to Lose Weight Quicker

Raising your metabolic rate means burning extra calories. So, here’s a few tips on how to speed your metabolism up and drop the pounds quicker.

Especially for those of us who have a busy day schedule, hitting weight loss targets doesn’t come easily. Not all is at loss however, a speedy metabolism makes keeping a healthy weight and burning calories a lot easier. How does one speed up the metabolism? Although Hcg Weight Loss plan is also superb that quickly reduces weight. Well – here’s a list of ten tips to get your metabolism into extra energy burning mode.

Sleep Well

This might come as a shock but sleep actually contributes to weight loss or at least prevents it from stocking up around the waistline and other fatty parts of the human body. Why, or how? Simple – a lack of sleep makes it difficult for our body to carry out basic bodily functions, one of those being calorie burning. So even if sticking to a strict diet, losing weight will become somewhat harder.

A lack of sleep also means a slow metabolism, and a slow metabolism means an increased appetite. So in order to say “no” to the biscuit tin, record your favourite TV night shows in advance and get your good night’s (long) sleep.

Breakfast

If you’re well acquainted with the world of ‘need to lose weight’, you’ve probably come across this one many times. One of the most common mistakes among unsuccessful dieters is that they skip the morning meal. By not having breakfast and starving ourselves, we’re forcing our body to slow its metabolic rate down in order to preserve energy. And instead of losing the fat we just end up losing precious muscle.

Not only does breakfast give us the power and energy for the day ahead, it also gives our metabolism a kick start. This means that we’ll be burning calories even when resting. Protein filled eggs or oats, which are slow releasing, will make you fuller for longer and keep you going for longer.

Consume Icy Water

This means burning an extra 50 calories a day. Hurah- every little helps. Why ice cold water? That’s because more energy is used up in order to warm the water to our body’s core temperature. Not only that but on the whole water is good for us, it suppresses the appetite, prevents fluid retention and good hydration makes our metabolism function properly along with all our other systems. We’re advised to drink about 1.5 litres daily. If it’s hot, or we lose a lot of fluid during exercise, drink more, and make it cold. Also the brain freeze makes water seem more exciting.

Tea &Coffee (no biscuits)

Yes, often we come across an article in the papers saying that coffee causes all sorts of undesirable health problems (including heart disease and cancer), but it has its benefits too. According to research, the benefits overshadow the bad stuff. Since the caffeine in coffee stimulates our nervous system, it fires up our metabolic rate and gives it a big boost. Another hurrah moment/tip: green tea is rich in antioxidant catechins. According to research, these antioxidant catechins can boost your metabolism up to 10%, which means that you could be burning up to 100 extra calories a day. If you’re not a green tea fan, antioxidant catechins are also found in regular tea.

Iron, Iron and More Iron

Having a diet containing lots of iron rich food is important. Iron is needed so that the hemoglobin in our blood can transport oxygen from the lungs to the rest of our body, on top of that it regulates our metabolism. When our metabolism slows down due to a lack of iron, our energy levels collapse and we become all lethargic. Make sure to include such foods as red meat, shellfish, spinach and dried fruit in your diet.

Oily Fish

Fish like tuna, sardines, salmon and mackerel are practically heaven for the human body. Not only are they delicious, but they’re stuffed with protein and omega-3. Although they don’t seem particularly filling, they’ll in fact keep you fuller for longer than a heavy pasta dish, for example. They contain healthy fats, meaning that you don’t have to worry about putting on any weight. Oily fish also contains vitamin D, which is known for helping protect and build muscle tissue, and that means our metabolism is going to be up and running in all directions.

Go Spicy

This isn’t about the fattening option from your favourite Indian take away, but, including hot, painfully tongue tickling chillies in your food can boost your metabolism by 50% for three hours after a meal. Our body uses up more energy to process capsaicin, the compound which gives the chillies its bright red colour. As a result, our metabolic rate gets a promotion. Remember, 50 %, and if you don’t like the burning sensation of chillies, red peppers also contain a rich source of capsaicin.

Go All Organic

This option is expensive, but for the sake of your metabolism it’s worth it. Research shows that consumers of organic products have less problems concerning the thyroid function, that means their metabolism is rarely lazy and slow. If it’s too pricey to go completely organic, the most important organic products are of course dairy, vegetables and fruit.

Little & Often

What’s the difference between three large meals and five little ones? Well, there’s a few. Firstly, by eating small meals you won’t feel bloated. You’ll keep your blood sugar levels under control and as a result the craving for snacks will be at a low. And by eating little and often, you’re keeping your metabolic rate going throughout the day. Eating healthy, nutritional and small meals during the day is good, you’ll feel full but never bloated.

Get Your Heart Pumping

This might be a little gruelling and exhausting but in the long term high intensity, sweat causing training sessions are worth it. If you work out hard enough your metabolism will be boosted for up to twenty four hours after you stop exercising. In order to achieve this, forget that boring, long and slow workout and introduce interval training. If you want to lose the flabby wobbly bits, you’ve got to get sweaty.

So remember to eat healthy, don’t starve yourself, get sweaty to keep your metabolism going and that unwanted fat should fall off quicker and stay off.
