Hypnosis gets a bad rap, mainly from stage hypnotist shows which are designed purely for their entertainment value. Squawking like a chicken or dancing on tables is not the outcome for most people who try hypnosis. You can never be made to do anything you wouldn’t do under any circumstance, nor are you ever out of control of your own function.
In truth, hypnosis is nothing more than focused awareness. Most people would be surprised to find out that they use self hypnosis on a regular basis each day. If you daydream, read a book or watch a movie so intently that you lose your sense of all things around you, then you have hypnotized yourself – it’s that simple
However, self hypnosis can also be used for specific goal setting purposes. Its value lies in the ability to totally relax the body and then inject positive suggestions that the mind will see, and believe, as real. Other than mind and body relaxation, some people use injectables in Gold Coast for their skin.
The Hypnotic Trance
A hypnotic trance can be self- induced, induced by a recording or by a trained hypnotist or hypnotherapist. Unless someone is very familiar with the use of guided imagery or self hypnosis techniques, an introduction to hypnosis may have better results when guided by an experienced practitioner.
Typically, a session begins with an induction which allows concentrated focus on an object followed by a deep relaxation process. Following the induction is the suggestion portion of the hypnotic trance process where suggestions for goals are deeply implanted in the subconscious mind. The session ends with a post-hypnotic suggestion which creates an “anchor” to the newly desired behavior and then gently brings the recipient back to full alertness. The entire session may only be 15-30 minutes long.
Self hypnosis may be used daily or until the desired results are achieved. One or more hypnotherapist guided sessions may be advisable for more difficult issues. Often, a taped version of the stage hypnotic script will be provided for home use.
Hypnosis Misconceptions
There are many misconceptions such as those mentioned above. Concerns of being unconscious during a session, not waking up or being hypnotized to do bad things are all common fears regarding what hypnosis is. However the hype hypnosis has received over time makes it appear more mysterious than what it is, which is simply a heightened state of awareness, deep relaxation, and a higher level of suggestibility, making it the perfect tool to meet any life goals.
